Judges Information

First of all, THANK YOU for your willingness to share your judging talents with so many talented students representing many high schools from this southwest section of the state. The contest managers, as well as all coaches, thank you immensely for your efforts and dedication to the IHSSA.

Contest Day Instructions

You will want to enter in the north doors of the building and proceed to the office (directly inside the doors).

Your contest day will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m. with the judges’ meeting. We encourage you to arrive around 6:45 a.m. to get started on reviewing your packet and schedule for the day! The meeting will start on time, so we can complete all tasks before starting the performance day.

Some judges will be asked to be substitute judges or act as room chairs or help in the office they are not needed to judge. You will be treated like a judge and paid accordingly. A big thank you for helping out even if you are not officially judging in a center. You will receive a year’s worth of experience by assisting in other parts of the competition if you are assigned to that.

Snacks and beverages will be available throughout the day, as well as a delicious lunch provided to you in the judges’ lounge. If you need anything else during the day, please ask your room chair for assistance and send a runner to the office. We will be happy to assist as best we can.

Friendly judging reminders…professional look, positive attitudes, and plentiful smiles!
You will all be treated to some memorable performances, and we hope you enjoy your day immensely.

A LIST OF JUDGES AND ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO YOU VIA EMAIL.
