About Be East
At East High School we have adopted the PBIS (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports) program. PBIS supports schools, districts, and states to build systems capacity for implementing a multi-tiered approach to social, emotional and behavior support. The broad purpose of PBIS is to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and equity of schools and other agencies. PBIS improves social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities and students from underrepresented groups (pbis.org).
At East we call our PBIS program Be EAST and it is aimed at providing positive behavioral, social, and emotional supports for all of our students so that they are not only successful in high school but successful in all facets of life.
The Be EAST program teaches our students to be Engaged, Accountable, Safe and Thoughtful.
